A better future for children in Albania

Our day care center for their education

Where for some the pandemic has been disorienting, for other it has been truly devastating. We are all in the same storm, but not in the same boat. For the first time in over 20 years, extreme poverty is back on the rise! Especially the poorest countries are hit the hardest. In Albania, more than a third of the population is affected by poverty. A fourth is between 15 and 29 years old, many of them did not finish school or have a job. Their future, also meaning the future of their country, is on the line.

This is where the Stepic CEE Charity comes into play. Our new project in Albania supports those who need it the most: The young generation without perspective. In our centers in Tirana and Cerrik, they get the education they need to get back on track.

Besides school education to make it possible for them to finish school and get a job, they are also taught economic skills so they can manage their finances better. Poverty often also means you mostly do not have an idea how to spend their money reasonably and responsibly. Parents and the government are also involved as to make a more sustainable impact.

To address the problems of Albania’s young generation successfully, everybody needs to part of the effort. Together, we make change possible. Together, we transform lives. Together, we impact communities and achieve our goal: Giving children and adolescents the chance for a better future through education – the main driver of sustainable change.
