The war in Ukraine has been raging since last month and our help is therefore more important than ever. Thanks to generous donations, we are able to support the people on the ground as best we can.
In Jablunitsa, a holiday resort in Ukraine, we have been supporting the modernization of dilapidated wooden houses that can be used as holiday accommodation for socially disadvantaged children and young people for a long time, together with the association kleine herzen and the development and aid organisation Caritas-Spes. Especially at such a difficult time as this, the people in this place need more help than ever. People live in fear and poverty and often, they lack the necessities of life. Therefore, we provided the children and adults in Jablunitsa with food and hygiene items last week. Furthermore, last week we were able to provide 130 children in Uzhgorod with essential goods such as hygiene articles, rice and sleeping bags. For some time now, we have been working together with the local NGO Helping Hand to give the children from Uzhgorod access to education. In an exceptional situation like this, however, survival is the most important thing, and we do our best to support our children in any way we can.
