An independent future for the Ukrainian youth

Thanks to our successful project in Uzhgorod, many children who previously hardly had the chance are now able to finish school. What they do afterwards was still unclear before we launched "Tools for the Future". Our project enables them to start an apprenticeship and learn a trade.

In doing so, they acquire skills that are urgently needed in the Ukranian region they live: Among others, carpentry, sewing, haircutting. We are happy for these young people that, despite the adverse circumstances of the pandemic, they either are in training or already, like Gornyak, have a job as a shoemaker.

"I am so happy about my job. Just a few years ago, I could never have imagined finishing school or even finding a job. My family was always plagued by unemployment and poverty. But now I have hope again and I am looking forward to my future", Gornyak said.
