Raiffeisen Bank Aval supports local “Children’s Town”

This June the staff of Lviv Regional Directorate of Raiffeisen Bank Aval visited one of the numerous Charity projects in Ukraine.
The event was an important part of the bank’s all-Ukrainian image campaign “We believe in ourselves! We believe in Ukraine!”.

The village ”Children’s Town” in Pnikut, with its family houses for orphans, has been built with the support of the H. Stepic CEE Charity and in the course of the years further constructionally improved. The staff of the Lviv Regional Directorate visited the children in the family houses and handed over useful gifts: clothes, toys, books, table games, etc. - all gathered by employees of the bank. Besides, they provided the children’s town with two lawn-mowers as well as some decorative plants. The visitors took great pleasure in talking to the children and paying them as much attention as they needed. The attention the children received was not taken for granted, so they took it with arms wide open and were very thankful.

The Children’s village consists of 4 houses, which provide children in need with a roof over their heads. Trained educators support the children and respond to their individual needs. This way the children can grow up in a family like environment instead of in orphanages. In total, five such houses are to be built there, on an area of 1.5 hectares.

In addition to building children’s houses in Pnikut, the H. Stepic CEE Charity has also reconstructed and equipped a local bakery that not only supplies the children with fresh bread, but also the neighborhood. Thus, work places are secured.

The long-term objective of the project is to integrate the children into society and to significantly improve their chances for the future.

The project has been carried out in cooperation with the organizations of Caritas Spes and kleine herzen.
